Can't go to work - might as well scrap!

Hmm, anyone noticing a similarity between these layouts? I guess I'm not as creative as I thought! I think that the 'Good Boy' page is still missing something, but I don't know what. One thing it's not missing, however, is the intense blue of my son's eyes.

I also made some cards, since I had all of the stuff out.

So all in all, it was a pretty good day. I've found some decent job leads already, and I got to hang out with my kids. Can't beat that with a stick!

Betsy wrote me a love letter for Valentine's Day. I think her writing skills are coming along nicely. Here it is, in its entirety:

I was able to decipher the whole thing, actually. But I think that's one of those skills like understanding toddler-speak; it's much easier when it's your own kids. (And yes, we are working on the word spacing.)

Also, on Sunday night I had a puppy named Christober. Tonight I had a dog named Science Fair. It's worth noting that both of these canines are a three-year-old boy.

V-Day

I seriously love the graphics in this one. And the singing octopi! How can you not love a red, heart-shaped cephalopod?


I went to Betsy's kindergarten class yesterday for her Valentine's Day party. Have I mentioned how much I love kindergarteners? They are just so cute. Betsy made all of her valentines herself, with absolutely no help from either of us - I am quite proud of her crafty ingenuity. Matt and I are getting takeout tonight and watching To Have And To Have Not (you really can't beat Bogie and Bacall). Because sure, you don't need a day on the calendar to be loved and blah blah, but at least I'm getting dinner out of the deal.

I'm pretty sure that Creating Keepsakes will be wanting to do a spread in their magazine. Hard to decide whether to focus on the bare concrete floors, or the insulation on the walls (which Porter tried his darndest to pull down).

All kidding aside, it's nice finally to have ALL my craft stuff in one place. I finally have a table big enough to spread out on, and some cabinets to hold my embarrassingly large stash of fabric and patterned paper. I've been wanting to set up a craft area in the basement for a while now, and it was good timing because all that organizational-type stuff goes on sale after Christmas. I'm still looking at Goodwill for a desk lamp and a halfway-decent chair. (And I think I need a space heater, too, because it is FREEZING down there.)

I think my ribbons look so nice all in their little glass jars. (Oh, and you can see my top secret chocolate stash in this shot, too.)
