We were all set to go to the Children's Museum today. They just opened a Curious George exhibit that my kids have been excited about for weeks.
But, it sort of didn't happen. Instead, we took Matt to the hospital and he got his appendix out!
He's doing all right now (although I think the Vicodin helped). We caught it early, so it was a very simple operation, and he can go back to work on Tuesday.
So, it was anything but a normal day. The kids aren't complaining. They got to eat at Chick-Fil-A and play at a friend's house!

OMG! I'll keep him in my prayers! I hope everything continues to go well. Love you!
Is he staying overnight at the hospital? That Vicodin is good stuff all right.
Nope, they did the surgery at 1:30 and we left the hospital by 5. They do it laparoscopically now so it's a really fast procedure (at least that's what the doctor said). The unfortunate downside is that Matt doesn't have a cool scar he can show off to all of his classmates in his French girls' boarding school. Oh well.
At least this way there
is no danger that all his
classmates will want one.
It would be bad taste,
Appendicitis haiku.
I'd never do THAT.
All seriousness aside, I'm glad they caught it early and I'm wishing Matt a very speedy recovery.
So glad to hear that you caught it early! So how did Porter like the waiting room this time? Isn't he normally your patient...
Sending prayers for a quick recovery!
Luv Trish

Oh, yikes! Poor Matt!
I *heart* the Children's Museum, thought!
Man, how about kickin' someone while they are down!
I didn't know that this had happened too!
What a bad run these couple of weeks have been.
It's good to look on the bright side right? It makes life not seem so bad!
